SPANISH SUPER CUP FIRST LEG BARCELONA VS SEVILLA RESULT

              SEVILLA     0 - 2    BARCELONA
                                                            GOALS (55' SUAREZ, 80' MUNIR)

Barcelona is one step closer to winning its first trophy of the young season after a convincing 2-0 win on Sunday in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup against Sevilla. Luis Suarez and Munir scored in the second half to give the Catalan giants the edge.
The matchup, usually between the champion of the Copa del Rey and La Liga, sees Sevilla in it for being runner-up in the Copa del Rey last season, as Barca won that competition and La Liga.
In this one, Sevilla started strong but Barcelona was more creative in attack, recording numerous chances. After a scoreless first half, Suarez scored early in the first half off a fine bit of skill from the away team.
Barcelona kept it going, without Neymar who is at the Olympics, at Munir bagged a quality strike 10 minutes from the final whistle thanks to this assist from Lionel Messi.
With the result, Barca can close it out and win the trophy on Wednesday in the second leg at the Camp Nou, but that will likely be without two starts. Andres Iniesta and Jeremy Mathieu picked up knocks in the game and will be reevaluated on Monday.
